  4. Procedure
    1. Preliminary Round

Participation in the preliminary round is only possible after a valid registration via the official registration form.

The preliminary round consists of two separate evaluations.
Each participant may play in both evaluations. Any qualification already achieved remains valid in any case.

      Week 1 – 1st Evaluation

5-series tournament with 12 possible playing dates. The average (mean) score will be used for ranking.

▸ The best third of all participants qualify for the Main Round.
      ▸ Entry fee: €20
▸ Special prizes: Weekly ranking for places 1–10

      Week 2 – 2nd Evaluation (Second Chance)

On at least 6 days, 2-series tournaments will be held, each with up to 3 possible playing dates.

To be included in the ranking, at least two of these 2-series tournaments must be played. It is also possible to play more than two.

For each participant, the two best tournament results will count towards the ranking table; all other results will be discarded.

▸ The best 50% of all participants from Week 2 qualify for the Main Round.
      ▸ Entry fee: €10 per 2-series tournament
▸ Special prizes: Weekly ranking for places 1–10

      Example – Week 2 Scoring:
A player takes part in three 2-series tournaments and achieves:
      1,755, 844, and 2,378 points.
For the ranking, the two best results count:
      1,755 + 2,378 = 4,133 points
These 4,133 points count towards the ranking table.

If fewer than 120 participants qualify after both preliminary rounds, the remaining places will be filled based on the 1st evaluation.

    2. Main Round

Participation in the Main Round is possible through qualification from the Preliminary Round or via a separate qualification tournament held prior to the World Championship.

To be included in the ranking, players must complete 10 series in the Main Round.
A minimum of 30 series will be available across at least 10 playing days.
Players may play more than 10 series.
All series played count fully towards the ranking – there are no discard series.

    3. Final Round

The best third of the Main Round – but at least the top 60 participants – qualify for the Final Round.

To be included in the ranking, players must again complete 10 series.
A minimum of 30 series will be available across at least 10 playing days.
Players may play more than 10 series.
All series played count fully towards the ranking – there are no discard series.

    4. Seeding List

▸ In the Preliminary Round, all series are assigned randomly.
▸ In the Main and Final Rounds, the first series is assigned randomly; all subsequent series are seeded based on the most recent result.
▸ Rankings are determined by average score, followed by number of games won and lost.
▸ Players sharing the same internet connection will not be seated at the same table.
▸ Tandem partners will not be placed at the same table during the Tandem competition.
▸ If the tournament management needs to rearrange players or tables, the original seeding order remains valid.

    5. Carried-over Points

Points earned in a round are not carried over to the next round.

  5. Entry Fee

▸ The entry fee is €20 for the 5-series tournament of the Preliminary Round.
▸ The entry fee is €10 per 2-series tournament of the Preliminary Round.
▸ The entry fee is €20 for participants who qualify directly for the Main Round and do not take part in the Preliminary Round.
